the idea we're talking about is to change the size of the bolt pattern. then you can choose from a better array of wheels. i already looked up the part numbers at ford and the bearings and races are the same part # i just havent set the rotors side by side to see if the total diameter and facing are the same.if they are wheel choices would increase alot.anybody got 20 minutes to go stand at the parts counter and look them over?
HEY RANGER 240, i got a chance to do a comprison of the rotors and so far its a no go on the swap from a 83 light duty to our style 65 to 79 even though the bearings are the same . the diameter is smaller and the rotor is thinner.im going to go to my friends junk yard and do some measuring this weekend to see if the ibeams are even close. maybe it can be done that way. i'll let y'all know what i find later.
the way the facing is on the 83 style rotors takes up less space allowing for a narrower center opening on the rim giving you more variety in wheel choices
I have photochop slammed many-a-67-72 ford trucks, I think they are sweet when you lay frame. I wouldn't do it personally, but I only have one truck as of yet, and it has to be able to haul stuff and be able to be driven daily. so I am thinking of going with a 4" drop in front 5.5 drop in rear with overload air bags (so I can haul heavy stuff) and some nice 17"-18" halibrands or torque thrust II's.
