cab metal question

Somebody needs to find that original thread....

I'm sure it was 16 guage for some parts and 18 for others.....

AWG= American Wire Gauge also called B&S = Brown and Sharp
SWG= Standard Wire Gauge (British Imperial standard)
BG= Birmingham Gauge

It only makes a difference if you are ordering metal that needs to be certain thickness to make sure that you and the supplier are using the same scale (look at where 1/16" = 0.0625 falls on the different scales). A steel supplier may use one scale, a aluminum or stainless supplier another and a copper wire supplier still another.

I think so too. If there is any 14GA sheet at all, I bet it's a brace. I measured a few spots on my truck at one time.

OK. I measured some components. Sorry, I couldn't measure the cab floor or firewall (which was the original question). Here's what I got:

Running Boards = .050
Door Skin = .050
Door inner panel = .050
Cab skin = .060
Fenders = .060
Tail Gate = .060
Bed Side Walls = .070

Hope this helps.
