Long Slip Yoke?
Took my driveshaft to the shop yesterday to have slip yoke replaced due to the fact that there's 160K miles on the truck and the shaft vibes a little. The replacement slip yoke is about 3" shorter than the original one. The truck is a 78 XLT 2wd with 302/C4 auto. One piece d/s that's about 4 1/2' long. Will the shorter yoke work without problems? Why is the original yoke so freakin long? Was there a reason for that?
