360 to a 460

360 to a 460

I have a 74 ford f-100 with a 360 and c6 tranny, will a 460 hook right up to the c6?

Nope, the FE and 385 series do not share the same bellhousing bolt pattern.

Is there any adapters I could get to make them match up. or should I just get a different Transmission?

Check with Advance Adapters, I believe. You would probably be best to get a trans to go with the 460, the Fe has been out of production since 1978. I know there are adapters to go to the FE block (for AOD and AEOD), but I do not think they have any to go to the FE trans.

Have you considered rebuilding the 360? When converted to a 390 they can make great power.

the 360 has a cracked block, so I need a new engine in general, and I happen to have a 460 from a 72 lincoln. I was just wondering if I could just swap that in without too much of a problem
