390 dizzy??

390 dizzy??
My dad just got a new distriputor for his 390 and it seems to be too long and the part numbers on mine and his do not match up so I was wondering if you could give me some numbers off yours and maybe some tips to get it to go down it only needs to move about and inch or so.

I have a DOZF-12131A-18. This was a single point vac advance that was converted to Pertronics. Sounds like the wrong dizzy if it's an inch longer. This one is 11 1/4" from the top of the cap to be base of shaft. It has the std size cap on it. It measures 9 1/4" with cap off from the base where the cap sits to shaft end. I also have a C3 dual point that measures the same. What number is on the new one you have? G.
