I have a porter cable 12v battery power drill that needs a battery.P/C wants 90.00 for them and was looking for an interchangable one if anyone knows of one that will work.It is an 862 12v and the batt is p#8620
Note that at Sears you can currently buy an 15.6 volt new drill (but single speed 0-600 RPM) and worklight with two batteries and case for 59.99 on sale.
18.0 volt w/two speed gearcase - Includes drill, 2 D.E. bits, charging cradle, 2 batteries, manual, case and work light 69.99
This probably beats buying a new battery for the Porter Cable at $50.
TorqueFirst,
Can you supply additional info on buying the cells? I have one of these drills, and two batteries that don't hold a charge as well as they used to.
Here in Sac we have a store called the Battery Store. All they sell is batteries, batteries and more batteries. Most are the dry cell type like flash lights use, but they also sell automotive types. Check your yellow pages and see if you have an equivilent. John
