The transmission work was done about three years ago. I did contact three lawyers, but none wanted to do anything. I did not sign the work order as I did not get an estimate. When I went in the next day after asking for an estimate, they had already put it back together.
I've been trying to find a way to get it to shift right since but have not found a knowlegable transmission tech. Is there some way to lower the pressure to see if that will cure the problems I'm having?
So you drove it as is for three years ? OK, so you can't go back to the shop, not after three years. So you need to run down someone who does diesel transmissions, or has alot of knowledge about diesels. Try Gale Banks, I have talked with them a couple times about other things. The guys at Bully Dog in Idaho may be helpful too. Just look up their phone numbers and start dialing, you'll be surprised how helpful these guys will be. Especially Banks, remember, they're gearheads first because they love cars/trucks, the business was secondary. Good luck, Ken
I've been off the internet a few days because the backlight quit working in my laptop, and when I tried the old desktop, found I had a problem with the power supply. I got the desktop working and had almost two years of updates to do on it. I've been told I need a whole new screen on the laptop, its going to take at least two weeks to fix it, and cost almost as much as I paid for the it in the first place.
I want to thank everyone for their replies. I am going to look into the pressure being too high, that sounds like it could be causing the problems I'm having. Maybe there is a chip or something to lower the pressure.
