it has been a while since i have been on here.... thanks to school and my 2 jobs.... anyway i have a 94 bronco with the 5.8 and i have noticed that the front tires lean inward slightly. this is wearing out the inside edge of my tires and i was wondering if it is due to my old shocks and coil springs. it looks like the truck sags a little but that could be due to a bad alignment.... anyway my question is could the tires be leaning in due to a sag in suspension and if so should i replace the shocks and coils? to my knowledge it is the original suspesion on the truck... i bought it three and a half years ago and i dont know if the guy before me replaced anything. thanks for the help.
Before you go replacing springs and shocks, check for bad balljoints and wheel bearings first. Usually these components will deteriorate first and will cause the kind of uneven tire wear you are seeing. You can check these components yourself by jacking one front wheel at a time off the ground and checking for endplay in the camber of the wheel which is what it sounds like you are describing as "sag". If you can grab the top and bottom of either wheel and feel any movement back and forth by rocking the wheel up and down, its time to look into balljoints. If you can HEAR any kind of click or clunk when you do this, either the balljoints are really bad or you are dealing with bad wheel bearing(s). Just my $0.02 and where I'd begin.
