I have a 93' f250 xl (no options, not even air) 5sp and the lack of a drink holder has irritated me from day one. the other day I was power washing the floor (work truck, vinyl floor) and noticed 2 metal studs coming out of the front of the seat in the center. My 99' F250 crew cab has the same setup on the back seat with a drink holder that mounts to it. Needless to say I was excited for the 5 minutes it took me to yank the drink holder out of the 99 then I found that the spacing on the stud is wrong so it wouldn't fit. So here is my question, was there a drink holder that mounted on the front of the seat as an option ? If not what are the studs for?
I bought myself a plastic "thing" at k-mart, that has a CD storage area, and two cup holders. for about $10. I cut out the CD storage area (which the sides are less than an inch high), and put it under the shifter boot as a way of holding it down.
Now I have cup holders, and a place for loose change.
My 92 F150 flareside XLT has the two studs in the front of the seat and attached is a drink holder . You should be able to get on in a slavage yard or from the dealer.
I have a 95 f150 flareside 4wd w/ 5 speed I have a bench seat with the studs sticking out and I have a cup holder that attaches to them. From what I understand 5 speeds have one cup, and automatics can hold two cups.
