howdy fellas,
everyday i pass a pretty shabby old ford parked in the weeds next to a neighbor's house. even though it is in dire straits...it always catches my eye. i like the body style and even more the paint/decals running the length of the truck. the truck is silver with orange, yellow and brown paint/decal on it. it's also a reg cab long bed. i've seen these pickups before...but i have no idea what year truck they are. i haven't stopped to give it a hard look yet....don't know if it's a 100 or 150 or what....just know that i like it. i'm pretty certain it's a 70's model....but i don't know for sure. anybody know what i'm talking about or maybe have pictures in their gallery i might look at?
thx a bunch.

It sounds like a pkg. that Ford put out in 78-79.
My buddy bought a 78 Bronco when they first came out, and it had that stripe pkg. on it, but I can't remember what it was called.

could be an 2wd explorer. these had the stripes on them. mine did. 1978 f-250 Ranger Explorer Trailer Special 4x4. It was a sharp truck in it's day. sorry i ain't got any pics. i'll try and dig some up in photo albums but no guarantees. sorry.

It sounds like a 77-79 Free-Wheelin' truck to me. The Free-Wheelin' package included multi-colored "rainbow" decals down the side of the truck and a special interior that was black and silver with orange accents. These trucks are very rare and cool!
thx fellas....i'm gonna stop in at the neighbor's one of these days and ask him about it. it really is a sharp lookin truck. needs fixed up, but it would make a fine project. now i just have to convince my wife of that.... i tried searching the galleries here before, but now i can try again with the narrowed down years. it's kind of exhausting searching on the net...i'm on dial up and it's slow as heck.
