Performance in the mud is comperable to the boggers too.
Um, hate to tell you but the Claws do not even come CLOSE to the boggers in mud. I don't say this to argue and I don't even own a set of boggers but I've seen them both in the mud and there is no comparison.
I've seen as much as 30K out of SSR's. They do pretty well on the street and will be fine in the mud.
I have heard good things about the BFG mud terrains handle well on the road, but I have heard alot also about the Goodyear MTR's handle great on the road on slippery pavement (wet/snow/ice). Anyone else have the MTR's? For the 37" tall tire its cheaper than the BFG. And the article in petersons 4 wheel on em convinced me they would probably be my next tire for my bronco due to the great review (alot focusing on on-road conditions) especially on snow. Alot also depends on the tire size your looking for. The only neg thing I have heard about the MTR's is that they were quicker especially in a heavier vehicle. But the wear rate is even worse on most swampers.
Interco swamper SSR's are by far the tire of choice for roadability and offroading combined. I would however check out the new Toyo M/T. I hear that they are excellent for the pavement and that they also excel in the mud. Toyo used some fancy computer simulation program that was able to determine the optimum tread pattern design for quiet travel on the pavement but also aggressive traction in the mud.
