The silverstar bulbs for the fog lights are just what blitzen said. #9005 bulbs for about $35 bucks. Installation takes about 3 mins. Just reach behind the bumper to the back of the fog light. You can reach it from each wheel well. Un screw the bulbs, replace and your done. That easy.
And try to add Sylvania XV headlight H13 cuz it is gain visual in farther than stock one...
I have it on my Truck w/ Silverstar fog light and its great combined, IMHO.
My understanding is that Silverstar bulbs are whiter but same wattage compared to stock while the XtraVision bulbs are a higher wattage but not whiter. Having the Silverstars in the fog lights and XV in the head lights, do you notice a difference in color between the two?
I did a lot of driving tonight and I noticed that with the SilverStar bulbs inplace of the fogs, it projects a very low to the ground, wide beam of light.
Following your advice, I went to wall mart today and bought the 9005's for the fog lights. AWESOME! I already have the XV's as my headlights and this just adds tp the brightness. Very significant improvement.
I just bought and installed the 9005s Silverstars for my fog lights.
The 9005s are not direct replacements for the 9145. The tabs are not perfectly aligned but still fit. Second the stockers are 42W and the SS are 65W, a 50% increase in power.

Very easy to see now though.
thanks for the advice guys.
Someone correct me if I am wrong but I thought I read somewhere that you need to trim one of the tabs off the 9005's to fit in the fog light housing.
