idm ???????

can a failed idm be repaired and what is a joe servo modification?

I wouldn't even attempt to repair one, but you may be an electrican. Joe Servo modifies the IDM to increase the voltage signal sent to the injectors. Instead of the stock 110 volts it will send around 140.

idm repair

I am curious to know if it could be done. I would be surprised if an idm could not be repaired. After all its onlya computer and they are repaired by the milions. Hey cookies, what is the significance of 30 more volts to the injectors?

It lets the solenoid open the injector a little faster so you can squeeze a bit more fuel in without altering the duration of the injection cycle. Makes maybe 20-30 HP on the top end, and is almost mandatory for aftermarket injectors. It won't make any real difference under less than full throttle acceleration.
