99 psd wont start in the cold
I just got my 99 psd about 3 months ago and it always started fine in the morning. But it was always warm. I live in SLC, Utah and it is getting below freezing and now it wont start. It just cranks and a massive amount of white smoke comes out. I have to crank it about 10 to 15 times before it even tries to start. once it is started i usually starts rite up all day unless it sits for a while in the cold. I have started to use the block heater and it starts up the way it did when it was warm. I think it is my glow plugs but im not sure if mabe these PSD just start like this in the cold. anything on this topic would be great.

Glow plug Relay
you need to check the glow plug relay. The relay is located to the left of your fuel filter in the middle of the top of the engine. You should have 12V on both sides of the relay if the key is in the on position. If the relay is bad find a simular realy at your local auto parts store... ford wants way more than it is worth for the same thing!

The "Ag-bag" is the newest and best way to store sileage or feed crops for livestock. It is basically a giant heavy duty garbage bag. It is approx 1 football field long and 6-7 feet in diameter. The bagger is a PTO driven machine that stuffs the bag and moves slowly forward as it fills the bag up until you reach the end. The you place a giant zip tie on it to seal it up. As long as no one punctures the bag it will keep the sileage fresh and moist all winter long until ready to feed. This has cut down on barn fires because of too green of hay and also keeps the water and vitamins locked in for the cattle.
As for te truck I would go with the GPR being out first as that is the cheapest and easiest fix.
Where did you go to school? I am guessing you are a Husky?

I use FTE for 2 trucks other than PSD, but my neighbor is having problems with his 7.3L PSD...sounds like the same issue with no start in the cold. He also mentioned that it will stall on him as he's driving out of the neighborhood. Could this be a related problem? (Yes, it's cold here in Kaysville, UT too!!!).
