According to the "Rich peoples rides" special that the hosts of Overhaulin' did a couple of weeks ago, Enzos are going over 2 million US, and you can only buy one if you already own the top of the line Ferrari already.

The Ford GT is a bargain by comparison, for sure.
That is used prices, they were much cheaper new, but you had have owned, and currently own a certain list of cars like you said, it was a really exclusive club.
Ford designed and built the original GT40 to stomp on Ferrari, and it did.
I know that, and the GT will stomp on anything short of an enzo, I believe it was motor trend?? That stated nothing was close enough to touch the new GT except for possibly the enzo, and to save Ferraris face they would not compare the new 145k(thats right isn't it) GT compared to Ferraris best.
77 highboyboy: Watched a show the other night called million dollar motors which reviewed all the top street legal high end cars . The GT was no#5 and
no#1 was the F1 Mclaren . a Ferrari was no# 2, some high end privately built
California job that only sits 41" from the pavement to the roof was # 3 . Carerra
GT in 4th and at 500hp and 580 ground pounds and 0 to 60 in 3.8 sec. the Ford GT was #5.
All were uncomfortable to drive and had few interior complements of a luxury car which they wre not . The F1 which was designed as a race car before the class was canceled and was converted for street sales has plastic molded seats and a horozontal wire to be pulled to open the doors .
One must remember though that the Ford GT is selling for around a buck and a half while the others run from $230,000 to $375,000. Power Ball country for sure .

what ferrari is built in california?? I would like to know that. Most of us do remember that the GT is competing in a class outside of its own so to speak, for the price, well sticker price that is, how can anything else of that caliber even compare??
no Ferrari is built in Cali. the #2 car was the Ferrari, probably the Enzo.
the Vector lacks the refinement of the the big name supercars but its raw abilities is what ranks it so high on that listing.

sorry, misread your post, it was confusing with the no#. It would be the Enzo.
77 hiboyboy: There was a comma after the Ferarri and it was the Enzo. Crash has on the California custom with the Vector and there is nothing in the GT price range that holds a candle to them . I was surprized they even reviewed its potental and capabilities in this class of vehicles in the first place .
Ford does it again with setting the standard at half the price .
I watched that show that compared them all too. In my opinion, for the money, the Ford GT would be the way to go....unless you are so rich you can afford to light your stogies with thousand dollar bills.
It looked to me like the GT has so much snort that if you gas it too much coming out of a corner, you could toss your self off the road like a frizbee, very easily. We have a few roads up here, that are out of the way and not highly traveled. Boy...what a ball they'd be for that car! It's a real drooler alright. Anyone notice that they didn't even put the Viper into the comparison?
Fordlover1951: You noticed that when he was on the test track eh! Just a little throttle too much even after straightened out had the driver hanging onto the bum to keep her straight .
Definately theonly one there I would have looked at at any price as it actually has a few street car perks that seemed void in all the others except the Enzo.
I've been a GT 40 fan since they built the first one in 1952 . As they said though an original "40" is worth around $1,000,000 if you can find one for sale .
The GT was 30 years ahead of it's time when built and could not be touched then as well . Ford spent more money on the original prototype than they have spent on any other project to date . The program was shut down for this reason alone at the management level when Ford car sales slipped in the mid 60's .

The first GT40 prototype was released to the press in the spring of 1964. The Mk II and IV won Le Mans in 1966 and 1967. The project was dropped in 1968 when a rule change dropped the allowable engine size to 5 liters.
