They used to (many years ago) install a spark plug in the tail pipe and call it a flame thrower.
You would put your foot to the floor, turn off the key, fill the exhaust system with gas/gas fumes, flip on the plug and turn the key back on. Flames would lick out the back for 20 feet. I've seen explosions that blew the mufflers off and split pipes on the seam, made new seams.
I don't think non-carburated cars/trucks will do that.
W/O the spark plug you still would get a pretty good bang, but much less flame. Another fun thing was to point the tail pipes right to the ground and create a dust storm on dirt roads, only a crazy Cop would chase you in a dust storm. They knew your Momma and went to talk to her, she talked to Dad and he 'Talked' to you in a language you understood
