3 stage Switch question

3 stage Switch question

The standard switch that came with my Diablo Predator has the following positions: Top=ON, Middle=OFF, Bottom=ON. However, the instructions say that the the Middle position is for the premium tune of 91+ octane. Which one do I go with, what the switch says or the instructions?
Also, can I switch tunes on the fly?

The middle one is on..the top is stock and bottom is the 3rd stage,you can switch from the 2nd to 3rd stage on the fly but not to or from stock..
