well i have driven the toyota not the sami, were we live its pretty much slow goin trail stuff and the occasional mud hole, they do excellent in mud sine they weigh nothing and are locked up and all, but in my truck and im sure in yours to driving down the trail is rough at higher speeds like 5mph +, but in those things you can go as fast as you wont and hardly feel a thing, they are very tipsy like i said you can pull tires off the ground turning sharp, the sami is licensed to drive on the street but im not sure how, it is much taller then my rig and ive been pulled over for sitting to high, he rarely drives the thing on the street only 15 min.from his house to the trails, i have been in both rigs while they rolled and i have rolled the yota once myself but they are all caged and got 5 points and all the goods, the guy who built the cages told me they could roll at 60mph and you could put it back on the wheels and keep going, so you can just push the things til the roll, im always the one pulling em back over since im the only one with a truck over 1000lbs, i will definatly try to get some pics of these things

One wheel lifted in the air is not how you measure wheel travel , wheel travel is the lenghth of travel from full stuff to full droop not how high you can lift one wheel off the ground for An example my jeep has 16 inch travel coilovers so at the most, I could get 16 inches of wheel travel as iI am limited by the shocks, I jacked the passangerside rear tire about 30 inches up and i could have easily went more but i was hitting the ceiling in my shop but like i said thats not wheel travel.

ok if its not wheel travel, what is it called, i guess im wrong i figured that it was how high you could lift or i guess lower on of the tires from the ground without any of the other wheels coming off the ground, even still i'd love to see you jeep lift one of its tires 5-6 feet in the air without pulling any other tires off of the ground, anyways let me no what its called please

It is called articulation. And I never said my jeep would lift a tire 5-6 feet off the ground the front isnt even linked yet.

Justin, what were talking about is basically articulation. I figured that's what you meant as there's no possible way they'd have 68" of actual travel.

4 link means your axle is held in place by a set of bars, 2 to the bottom, 2 to the top of the axle and connected by some means to the frame. Then you use some fasion of a coil spring for suspension.

ok, sorry i guess i was mistaken, i just figured that articulation, flex, wheel travel were pretty much all the same, pretty much im just saying that these two rigs articulate pretty good, im definatly impressed with it, i just got the feeling that you weren't very impressed with this, thats why i mad the comment about u lifting a tire 5-6ft, ive never really heard of measuring articulation that why, i have put my rig on flex ramps and they measure by how high you go and wheel base and all that good stuff, but they me a score which had all these things calculated together

thanks for clearing that up any how

To tell you the truth I am not impressed by a truck that can lift a tire 5 feet off the ground but will "lift the two inside tires off the ground if they turn sharp enough" Whats going to happen when they try to climb a rocky sidehill? It doesnt sound like they are very stable. I would much rather have a truck that is proven to wheel good than one that just measures up. And since your talking trash about my jeep I will be more than happy to show you and your buddies what it will do as soon as finish the front suspension. Where are you at? Where do you wheel? With locked rockwells front and rear, 4wheel steering, 52 inch michelins sticking a foot past the end of the frame on both ends, and 450 hp I could probably outwheel both your buddies with my axles welded solid to the frame.

Don't like them numbers Fishy? I'm definitely building a linked suspension for my trail rig. It's far more flexible and versatile than leaf springs. I just don't see much point in it for the Cap'n, being that I'm building it for mud, not trails or rocks.

jesse, well with the setup that you described on your jeep im sure you could out wheel these trucks, i live in tacoma, washington we mostly wheel at elbe hills and evans creek, sometimes we go to tahuya but thats not much of a challenge for my truck anymore, anyways i think it's more about the driver than the truck, ive seen stock trucks go places were guys with huge lifts and swampers don't even try, if you want to come show me how your rig wheels get a hold of me any time and i'll definatly go, and when i said they can pull tires of the ground turning shrap i didn't mean going 5mph or slower im talking about 25-35mph
