Should be simple but....

I am replaceing the ball joints in my 94' D60
I removed the cap that has the **** and removed the locking gear and spring. How do I get the snap ring that holds the rest of the locking hub mechanism in?.
There aren't any holes for snap ring pliers. No slot for prying it out either. what gives?

Randy,
There's one internal snap ring that goes around the inside diameter of the hub. It's a round wire type about the same size as clothes hanger wire. There will be a gap in the wire somewhere about .25-.375 inches wide. Get a pick and a screwdriver and get it out of there. Then there is the external ring around the axleshaft. It's a normal snapring with the holes in it. Once those two rings are out, your locking hub will slide right out.
