Diy 9 inch
Is there anyone that has built a 9 inch third member without the use of a hydraulic press?
I'm skilled enough to do the job but don't have a press. I was quoted roughly $500 just to assemble a third member!!! I was thinking more like $125.
Anyone have any suggestions?
Stock rebuild btw. Nothing fancy. Just trying to get this old 82 f150 off jack stands and running again.

I'd find another shop. My 9" was $600 with labor, new ring/pinion gears, bearings, seal etc...

If your bearings are good, carrier and pinion then you do not need a press.
