EFIing a 351w

Is it a good idea to EFI a 86 351? Its the HO block with only 50000 miles on it, but its got no power and crap for fuel milage. Would it be a good idea or for that matter not to pricy to do? Oh yeah, would it pass emissions if kept to stock settings? I know id need the harnesses, the computer and a swath of sensors, but this stocker carbs weak!

If it runs like junk right now, an EFI system isn't going to make it run any better. I would try tuning your existing setup first before trying anything else.

A lot of people pull off the EFI and go carb so that THEY can control the drivability and performance. The stock setup is marginal at best so look at Edelbrock carbs and intake.

I think you should figure out why the carb setup isn't working correctly before you touch anything.

EFI is way better, but it's not all that easy to install using stock components. It would be a lot easier (but more pricey) to use an aftermarket EFI system.
