Question Question for Ford Ranger folks..

One of my employees has a '93 Ford Ranger Extended Cab w/ the 4.0 V6 that I've been helping him keep running (good truck, just has 150,000 miles, so it needs a little TLC).. the syncros in his 5 speed manual are fried (very hard to shift)... someone GAVE him a relatively new (it was from a wrecked truck) 5 speed manual that was out of a '93 as well... the only differences in the two trucks was that this new tranny was out of a regular cab (I don't think that'd make a difference, probably just used a different length driveshaft), and that the donor truck had a 4 cylinder in it.... we've heard various statements about this... are the bellhousings / transmissions the same between the 4 cylinder model and the V6? We're hoping so!

Thanks! (BTW, this forum rulez! We fixed his ABS light issue with info from this site, pulling the codes, and, of course, it was the rear VSS.. they "only" had 150 new ones at the parts dealer--ha ha ha--)

Same tranny, but it won't work, the bellhousings are different between the 4 bangers and the V6s.
