Anyone else experience the rear wiper on their X only hitting part of the glass? I've tried several different wipers, messed with the wiper arm, etc, and nothing seems to work. The best I can get it to wipe still misses the top inch or so of the area it should sweep. With winter upon us, we need to have the wiper work!
Also, anyone know where to buy, or have a pair, or the side inserts for the grille (the two little ones on each side of the main grille?) Someone swiped one of ours while we were shopping. I couldn't figure out why until I stopped by the Ford dealership and they said they will only sell the entire grille setup for $360! I found some all black grills on ebay for around 60 bucks, but would really just like to replace the original pieces if possible.
I'll sell you the 2 side grille inserts as well as the center for $25 plus shipping, they came off my 04' X. If interested you can e-mail me at: swentz @ houston.rr.com
with the wiper issue i have the same problem but looking at it the window curves quickly so i think there is no fix maybe a smaller wiper? sort of defeates the purpose though
I wonder if there's subtle differences in the glass from vehicle to vehilce, which is why you see some wipers that work great, and others (like mine) that don't wipe so much. . .
You are looking for the factory parts for the grill? When I bough the Excursion the main part of the grill was cracked and one side vent was busted. Ford dealership said my only option was buying a whole set-up for $275, I told the salesman, I'll find them on Ebay! He said, good idea! Found the main grill insert and side inserts for $60 with shipping then picked up a complete X grill for $50 shipped off TDS.
If you need them just search Ebay for Excursion grill, there is always somebody selling the take out's for aftermarket parts. $25 for the three parts is dirt cheap!
