is this one any good?

i can get a 460 out of a 67 lincoln for 500 bucks in my nieghborhood. is this a good one? should i be lookin for a D7 casting # ? thanks

I will probably be corected on this but i dont think the 460 came out till 68

Some of the older Linoln's had what was a 462. A completely different motor designed for the Lincolns only. My old man had one in his '64 Lincoln. That thing had power though, in an almost 6,000lbs car it would still do 0-60mph is under 10 seconds.

anyone have any idea how i can tell the 462 from a 460 visually?

I know a 460 has 7 rocker cover bolts....However, I'm not sure about the 462. The intake also shows quite a bit of difference, hard to explain however. It seems the 462 has just the tunnels to the intake ports, while the 460 has metal between the tunnels and looks more "solid".

BTW Whitey, that block better not have a D7 casting, or it DEFINITELY IS NOT out of a '67, I would look for a C7 casting....
