I recently read in a Motortrend mag that Toyota is working on a engine that will put out 390 HP and 700 fpt for their new truck I just couldn't believe it when I read it fordguy101

I think that motor is suppose to a turbo version of the motor that they are using now.

It's probably the turbo, but I wonder if Toyota has any plans to take their pushrod NASCAR V8 they started running this year in the Craftsman Truck series and base a production engine on it? Dodge won the series (and no, it ain't a Hemi either). I think the best Ford was in 4th place in the overall standings. The Toyota in its first year out was running in the top ten, I think 7th, as of last week.
