EFI hoses

I have a '86 Ranger 2.3L 4cyl. It has EFI, and I recently was in an accident. The engine wasn't touched i was just hit from the side, but now I want to see if my engine still works, but i have a few loose ends that i have no idea came from.

It's best to understand my problem if you could see it, but i can't post pictures (or at least i don't know how) so i created a site where you can see my loose ends.

The one i'm most concerned about is a hose that goes from the brake power booster to, what seems the top of the EFI. But when i go to connect it where it's supposed to go, it doesn't go that far to connect. Is this hose supposed to go there? Or is it supposed to go someplace else?

You can see the pics at

Okay, the wires are for your self diagnostic function. That vacuum hose definitely looks like it goes there, right diameter and routing. Are you sure you didn't break a motor mount when you were hit? Even if the engine weren't touched, it could have been thrown around by the impact.

I thought that too, but i just wanted a second opinion. So if you were me would you try to start the engine to see if it worked? Because now I'm thinking, no.

So if i did throw a motor mount the engine still works right? just it's off of where it's supposed to be. If i were to put it into another truck, with new mounts, it would be ok right? B/c right now i'm just exploring the options of what i can do with it.

Just plug the spot where the hose goes. You don't need the power assist if you are just running the engine. As long as the fan doesn't hit the shroud or anything, it should run being out of place.
And yes, the wires you show are the test hook up connectors for tecting the ECM for codes. They do not need to be hooked to anything.
