Vibrations from trans!!!??? HELP!
Vibrations from trans!!!??? HELP!
driving a 91 Bronco w/ 5.0L and E40D trans... I'm expieriencing a vibration when i step on the gas and it downshifts. I'm pretty sure this is coming from trans. A guy i know said he was told it was a problem w/ the torque converters. I was instructed to buy Mercon trans lube. I did and it seemed like it helped for the first week but now its back and getting frustrating. The vibration happens most of the time when the truck downshifts from 4th gear. Never when its driven hard, only when im babying the gas.
Anybody else have this problem????
thanx for all the help

when was its last service. should be done at least once a year. would also check for codes being an E4OD it will produce some if there is an issue. also some lucas trans fix is a great product to try. also making sure your motor itself is in tune. if its not firing on all cylinders it can appear to be a tranny vibration when really its the motor causing the problem. it may need a tune up as well if its been awhile. How many miles are on the tranny/motor?
Mine was vibrating like you say, usually when starting from a stop or slow acceleration. Ripped it apart this summer and turns out my primary drive gears were absolutely shot!! I would recommend taking it to a transmission shop they would be able to tell you for sure. Best of luck and hopefully its NOT the tranny.
