Transmission Identification Please Help

Hello everyone. I have a 95 F150, 4x4, ext.cab, shortbed, 5.0L, V8 with overdrive, and I'm not sure what transmission is in it... or should I say out of it... If anyone knows I would greatly appriciate the help and knowledge. Thanks a bunch.

If it's an automatic, it's probably either an E4OD, which has 20 bolts on the oil pan, or an AOD/E, which I think has 14 bolts on the pan. If this OD tranny is a 5-speed manual, it's probably an M5OD.

It is an automatic, and after a quick count there are 14 bolts on the pan. Thanks for taking the time to help. Since this transmission died today I was wanting to swap it out for the one in my 87 F150, 4x4... but I'm sure that's a C-6 transmission, and I've been told that wont work if I have the AODE tranny in my 95. Are the 4R70W a good tranny or is there a better one for my truck?

From my understanding, the 4R70W is an updated and improved version of the AOD/E, so as long as the bellhousing bolt patterns match, I imagine it would be a good swap, barring any issues with the electronics in the different years.
