I am debating on putting on a plow and was wondering what make other F-250 trucks are using. I am kind of narrowed down to New Meyers, or the Western, I forget that model. I am posting a poll to make it easier.
I just put a SnowWay 29 on my F350 and man is it sweet! Down pressure, wireless remote control (no wires through the firewall), and the plow, pump and lights all come off as one unit. It even has a built in "kick stand" to hold the mounting end of the plow up when you take it off. The folks that designed it really knew what they were doing. Now I just need it to snow!
I can't believe the Boss snow plows are not in first, around Indiana thats what 98% of Super Dutys have on them. I am happy with my Westen Unimount although next time I would pay someone else to put it on, lot's of drilling and a real pita to put on, by far the strongest mount in the world!!! The Boss looks great on these trucks!
I have a 8.5' Fischer Minute mount, couldn't be happier. Fisher is "THE" plow in this area (NH). I have been looking at the new expandable Blizzard, think I will wait a couple of years to let someone else get the bugs out.
I've been in the green/snow removal industry for 12 yrs. My personal favorites are either Boss OR Western. Stay away from Meyer, they're junk, just my 2 cents.....
My dad has a Fisher EZ-V 8.5 foot on our 03 F350. It was fairly easy to install but waaay too many wires. It does great in most snow, but we did have like 8" of heavy snow last year and the truck is more powerful (7.3L) than the plows pistons. It will push the plow from a straight blade to the V blade with no problem. Other than that with light snow, even over a foot, is great with the V because you can scoop it and it cleans up the lots sooo much faster than a std. straight blade. We also have a 9 ft Fisher Minute Mount on a 97 F350 wrecker. It is also a great plow, and nice that the headgear comes off so we can install a push bumper (with rubber covering) for moving dead cars. Its only tougher in the smaller driveways cuz the big blade because its a dually, with a wheel lift sticking 4 feet of the back. I feel that Fisher is the best, mostly in heavy snow because the blades dont flop over when really pushed.
I have a Hiniker C-Plow its an 8', so far i like it i have had it going on three seasons. since no one has mentioned hiniker yet, you can see it at http://www.hiniker.com its different because it folds the top over for more efficient back dragging.
I have a Diamond MDII I think its the best. Iv'e had most others and the diamond just seems smarter. Large curve on the top of the blade, very fast, heavy duty, not as heavy and bulky as a Boss. And no problems.
