I can't find right Headmans for my Early Bronco? Part number HED-89300 says for 2wd only and don't list a Bronco. The $350 Hookers list 66-something Bronco, but that's way more than I was planning on spending. Are these the ones you guys are putting on your 4x4's? Dude on Ebay says his 2wd pickup headers won't fit my Bronco. What do I do? My Bronco originally had the 302 but I'm going 300. Got me an Offy "C" and 390 Holley.
Any help would be appreciated!
Thanks,
I recently purchased a set of Dynomax headers for my 1980 Ford F150 4X4 with the straight six. No problems in installation at all, and I had no manifold leaks. It's rare when something works this well for me. They say "2wd only" as well.
I don't know how the Bronco differs-what year is your truck? The critical part is getting around the starter in the F150.
With in the 80-86 year range the bronco and F-150/250 are pretty much the same. The down or converter pipe for the 2wd Bronco is the same I used on my 300 I6 with EFIs and it fit great. The starter is in the same place on all 300s and the frames are the same in that area! The front Diff. is under the cross member and has no bearing on the frame and cross member. I have an 82 F-150 with a 302 or 351 (I don't know, bought it for other parts) and it has the same frame and cross member as my F-250.

The Dynomax will also fit an '89 F150 4X4 with some minor grinding.
I've also had zero problems with the Dynomax headers.
Yes, they are available. Check Advance Auto Parts. It is like O'Reilly's, they carry parts for most makes and have several locations near where I live (Omaha, NE).
If you can't find it locally, I can call the store near 86th and Center street in Omaha and get the part #. Let me know.
The flanges for the bolt mounting lined up, they fit tight with no leaks. I was impressed. Maybe I got lucky, but they were the easiest header install I've done, V8 or I6.
I need a part number please. I went to Advance Auto Parts and they tried to tell me that no one makes a header for a 6 cylinder. They even laughed about it. I don't think they looked very hard. Thanks. Mark.
Sorry Mark, but I'm sure glad I'm not the only one in this boat.LOL Summit says Hooker is the only ones they have that fit my application, and they are $350! Yikes!
Give me a chance to give Dad a buzz (He lives in Omaha and will give me the store #) and I will give the store a call and find that part # for you guys.
