Few newbie turbo questions?
Whats up guys,
Im new to FTE, I currently drive a 2000 powerstroke extended cab f250 for work. I am working on selling my 2000 BMW coupe, which is my daily driver, to make room for a new '05 Crew Cab, and im pretty sure with the powerstroke.
Im graduating school, and the BMW just isnt going to be practical, i need to be able to haul things for work...Im in construction currently and am graduating with a degree in Construction Managment
I have a few questions. Sorry if they sound dumb. Im used to working with turbo's on little rice burners.
Anyway here goes...
1.) are there intercooler kits for the SD
2.) Is there a need for a turbo timer
3.) Is there any function for a blow off valve on a diesel
I think that is it... Im sure ill have more questions down the road...
I hope to take delievery on a '05 before the first of the year.....
thanks
Kevin

Kevin, go to the tech folder above and read through the section on the turbo in the 6.0L Bible.
1. The Ford SD with a 6.0 comes with an intercooler between the turbo and intake.
2. Not unless you are going to do some heavy hauling.
3. Not on this 6.0. The turbo is electronically controlled variable geometry.
