I have 35's on my 75 highboy with no lift and it works will. I even took it through an off-road frame twister course and had no problems with the wheels. Probles with the Diff, yes, but not the wheels....
yeah i gotta 78 and i gotta put a 3" lift to run 35's but a 3" is equal to a highboy. It'll be fine. megamac, i'm glad to hear you didn't rub at all. makes me feel better about putting my lift on. i go wheeling and don't wanna rub anything.
what happens when you only get a 2" lift with 35's? It's awesome for a week and then the truck doesn't feel big anymore then you kick yourself for not going 4". I know a lot of guys who have ran that scenario. Go 4" and bigger tire

That's a great theory but unfortunately it happens with any size lift. I bought 44's and started with 6", went to 8", now at 11". Working on the truck tonight 11" didn't look big anymore. It's a vicious cycle. I'll probably be driving a monster truck by next week. But I definitely agree, 2" wouldn't seem like much of a lift within a short time.
well if he has stock tires 29" and the stock highboy suspension. he'll get 5" of lift from the 35's and a 2" lift. Like i'm goin 3"and 35's or 36's and it'll give me 6.5 inches of lift. I look at how much the tires and suspension are gonna give me. i tell people what suspension i have and what tires and tell them total lift when they ask. just my $0.02 i wish i could afford a 6 or 8" lift and 40 or 44's but i can't on my sallery. hey $15.00/hr doesn't go far when working 8 out of 12 months a year. but thats not bad for someone my age.
