Hey Ivan what are you doing about driveshafts for that truck of yours? You are definetly going to need to get them lengthened correct? About how much are you thinking? he reason for me asking is I'm putting a very similar lift on my truck and I would like to know for a reference thanks.
I found this hard to believe but I will not have to do anything with my rear driveshaft. I'm not sure if all trucks have this or just the extra long trucks like the Supercabs but my read driveshaft is actually 2 seperate ones connected by a U-joint. The fist section is maybe 2 feet, parallel with the frame and connected to the crossmember to hold it in place. The second section runs from there to my axle and contains the slip joint. The shackle flip moved my rear axle forward a couple inches as well as turned the pinion up slightly so I won't have to modify the rear driveshaft at all. If it were a shorter truck with a 1 piece then I may need to, or if I didn't do a shackle flip and just used arched springs/big blocks.
The front will have to be lengthened by about 3". I also have to cut the crossmember that supports the t-case and tranny so the front driveshaft won't hit. I have a double carden up front so I'm not guessing I'll have any trouble with the angle of the joint. Right now I'm considering moving the front axle back 1" and I still need to correct my pinion angle so I'm waiting to do this before I stretch the front driveshaft.
hey ivan i'm gonna raise the rear with spring and i'm gonna use highboy springs up front (as previously discused w/ you), whats gonna happen with my rear drive shaft, will it need to be lengthened or not? i'm only goin 3". Sorry to highjack your thread Screamin T/A.
