Rough idle, rough running
My 94 xlt, 2.3litre, 5 speed will hardly go down the road. i.e. went to the mall and parked. Ran smooth, no missing everything normal. Left the mall and the truck was rough running and with full accelleration it would not go faster than 65 mph. When in 5th gear, full throttle speed would desend (not enough power to maintain speed). By the time I reached home it would not idle. Changed the plugs, wires, replaced the pcv. I also noticed, while under the truck, a black burn spot {possibly a hole} on the catalatic converter, don't know if that means anything or not. The truck has 84k miles. Whats an easy way to check for vacuum leaks? Befuddled!

it sounds as tho your trucks pcm has gone into limp mode......i take it you are not seeing a check engine light?......possibly your pcm has failed......take a look at this situation...
