pressure specs for HPOP

Anyone know the pressure specs for the HPOP. I hooked up my snap-on scan tool, with the 99 PSD at running temp, my readings were 460 to 490 psi at idle, fluctuating alot. At 2500 rpm i only got 1,150 psi. the readings were flucutating alot, is this the regulator or the pump its self that might be bad? Or are the readings within specs?

Can't remember exactly but I think that is a little low. Idle is supposed to be about 600 psi I think.

Cranking at 100 rpm min. it should be 500 psi that is the min pressure to enable injectors.

It should be at least 500 at idle (around 1000 while cranking) and upwards of 2500 as you approach WOT.

I would try a IPR first since it's a lot cheaper and easier than the pump. Might also check or replace the ICP sensor since you were using a scan tool as opposed to a direct pressure reading.

How much fluctuation are you getting. Alot of fluctuating tends to be caused by aeriation of the oil.

also had 2 DTC, exhaust control valve, i have a exhaust brake though didnt know if thats why i had that DTC? And the other was low boost. If that valve is half opened would it cause the truck to run poorly and have low boost?

Yes if your EBPV is stuck partially open your truck will run poorly and will not make much boost. What type of exhaust brake do you have?

the brand is E braker, there is a toggle switch you have to turn on to activate it, you can only tell its working when going down hills.

thanks, i unpluged the sensor on the head got the diff. idle. Is the ipr valve sensor right above the valve itself? If so i unpluged it and the truck died. maybe then the valve? Can they be cleaned?

the ipr sensor is in the drivers side head at the front, the ipr is in the hpop pump the drivers side of the pump sticking out horizontally tward the back of the motor. if ipr is working it should die when unplugged. could be a wore out o ring in the ipr causing problem also

ok thanks i may pull out the ipr valve and inspect it. If you unpluged it and the truck dies, you could still have a bad O ring that wouldnt show up unless disasembly?
