I run a 1964 Sprint unit built by Faria in Connecticuit built in Nov 0f 63. Put in a real & authentic & genuine 64 Falcoon Sprint of the Day. It's a 6K Tach on a 5.2K engine. It has the "Script Base & Bracket". Yes it's illuminated. It's really just an ornament as my set up is all predetermined by the way I built & adjusted it all. People who know what it is get all "freaqued" about; "what I'm doing with it in a truck". I tell them it's not a truck it's a Slick. You oughtta hear em whine & snivel over that! I LOVE IT Hah!
Fordboypete, I like that idea. Did you fabriciate the piece that the guagues attach too? I am also looking for an old Ford classic style instument panel with a tach, but with no luck so far. Time to search the junkyard!
If you can't get a genuine old guage you can order a guage from Mooneyes. It looks like a 60's guage and has the mooneyes logo and a chrome mounjting cup. Better than just a new guage in my opinion. Nothing beats an original though.
FORD352V8,
It's a dash top mount like OEM Thunderbolts were. In Sprints it sits askew & under the left edge of inside RVM just "east" of the speaker grille. The base & bracket were on it when I got it, so was the part of the OEM Harness set up.

Little Bro, I bought a tachometer from Autozone. Don't remember the brand right now . Mounted it on the steering column and it works great, however...... at night it throws a reflection off of its chrome bezel right on to the windshield AT EYE LEVEL!!!! Something to consider!
Little Bro, you might want to look at my gallery. I have a '62 F250 with a 300 ci with a few mods. The tach is mounted on the steering coloumn and works fine. No probs with reflection etc.

I think one of those "Ralley Pack" setups for early mustangs would look nice. Gets the clock and tac, its Ford, and looks cool. Does anyone know of someone making these for Mustangs in aftermarket?
