My part # was the K/N 33-2287 for my 2004 f-150 with the 5.4 V8. $32.49
I was told the book showed k/n E-0945 this was the cone style and mine was the new style flat filter as in the 2005.
And as far as the warranty I can't find in in my book where it would void it... Any help out there on this?
Just wanted to know if this was the same with oil. If I do not use Motorcraft oil ,or their oil filter, or their air filter or their gear lube or any other Ford Product (Ford leather prep Ford wax ect.) Will this void my warranty?
Thanks for the help
I looked at my window sticker for a while, and I could not find an exact build date. I have not checked the door jam yet, but I will
Bottom right hand corner edge after the long number. The number is not the VIN. It must be a shipping number or something. Mine is 4F021 N RB 450 004587 06 02 04. The build date was June 02, 2004.
Loco, no they can't void the warranty unless what you use doesn't meet Ford Spec's. Ford spec's are not that tough to meet and virually all oils meet the spec as long as the weight is right. If they want to be able to void the warranty for not using their stuff then they would have to supply it free of charge.
Thanks for the reply Dunk I thought that was the way it was . Just placed an order for the K/N and would like to run Mobil 1 after the break in .
Just a quick one .
I have used the K/N air filter and Mobil 1 in my Harley for the last 10 years and no problems with the warranty work from them.
Thanks.
From what I understand from reading 150 forums Ford is pretty sticky about what weight oil to use. 0-20 is as close as Mobil comes. Ford doesn't seem to mind thinner oil(0-20), but they don't want 30 weight in them. All my oil changes are covered in the lease.. I don't care if they put saltwater in my engine as long as it runs till the lease is up..
