Hello all,
It's been a long time since I've been to the FTE, everything looks great.
Speaking of great, I wish my 91EXP were doing great. However, as things go, my transfercase ECM, or it could be the shift motor, not sure which one, is acting up.
The symptoms are smooth and eficient shifts in warm and moderate weather, and very poor to no shift in cooler to cold weather.
As is the way with the ECM, I can always here it 'clicking' when I'm shifting the transfercase in/out under normal weather conditions. The problem is, when I'm shifting in/out in colder conditions, the ECM will 'click' for a little while, then stop.., no shift occuring, up/down, in/out
If anyone else has experienced this similar/same problem, I'd really appreciate hearing from you.
Thanks in advance to everyone that replies.
Dale.
Do a search. There are instructions on troubleshooting the circuit from start to finish to narrow down the problem. It may just be you need to dis assemble the motor and clean it.
Thanks for the reply,
I know the morors alright. I overhauled it when I rebuilt the T/C. It sounds to me like the ECM is acting up. Do you know how to test it ?
Thanks again.
Dale.
Thanks mate,
I'll be searching around in the mean time to see what I can dig up. In the past I've found it kinda difficult to get my hands on schematics and the like.
