To anyone who has done this warrior lift allready. How long are your shackles? I got these in the mail the other day and for 1.5" lift I never thought would be 8" long.

Ain't no way I 'd put 8" shachles on my truck ! Front or back .
Fab, measure your stock shackles, they should be 3 inches shorter then the lift shackles. In other words if the shackles you ordered are 8" long the stock ones should be 5" long. If they are 1.5" lift shackles they should be 3" longer then stock. As Vancouver Power said the reason you only get 1.5" of lift from a 3" longer shackle is you are only lowering the back spring mount. Longer shackles do create problems such as improper caster, and increased pinion angle. The improper caster will give you some wander as Kwik said, and in my opinion just makes the steering feel funny. The increased pinion angle will shorten the life of your driveshaft u-joints and could cause the u-joints to bind in off road conditions. RynL88 shackles for a Super Duty will not fit on a 97 and back truck. The design of the shackles on your truck is different and they mount on the front of the spring not on the rear as they do on Super Duties.
RynL88, something you might want to look into for your truck is a shackle reversal setup. This kit moves the shackles from the front of the spring to the rear and gives you about 1.5"-2" of lift. Ford switched the shackles to the rear for a reason, it significatly smoothes out the ride. The way your shackles are now, they are angled slightly forward, so every time you hit a bump the shackle moves backward forcing the axle to move backward too. Since the truck is moving forward this causes a jolt. When the shackles are moved to the rear, they are already angled to the back so they move in a much more natural motion causing less jolt. These kits are designed for solid axle F 350s so you may need center pivot drop brackets to use it on a F 250. I believe ORU ( Off Road Unlimited ) still sells this kit.

ok cool. i already have pivot drops that I got with an add a leafer I decided not to install cause it would make the ride too rough(as this is my traveling truck usually) I'll look into the reverse shackle idea.
Thanks again
