Looking to upgrade the stock sound on my '05 SCrew. Will have a 5 ch amp and Eclipse head unit, Solobaric sub under rear seat.
I'm looking for the premier 6x8 repalcement for the stock speakers. The MB Quart RCE-268 seems like nicest one I can find. Any feedback? Is there a better 6x8 option?
I just installed (4) MB Quart PCE-216's running of a 4 channel 300 amp JL Audio amp. They are amazing.
FYI, after moving the tweeters everywhere, I installed them in the center of the speakers. You have to get further away than is possible in the truck, to have them seperate IMO.
I prefer a round speaker. These were installed with an adapter plates, but no cutting was required.
I would also recommend Dynamat, or some sound material. Night and day differance. Spent 20 some hours testing and installing, and it is still not where it will be.
