Just traded the 99 expy for a slightly used 03 expy (18000 miles). It does not have a remote control for the DvD player. Does anyone know where to get one (besides the stealerships). Thanks
idk if this would work, but have you tried a universal remote from walmart or somewhere like that? i figured you might be able to match up brands and get a match, i've never tried anything like that though
so what kind of system is this? was it stock or what? usually if it's stock it has a brand, and those universal remotes have a search for codes button, it may be worth $8 to try
I got mine, a factory 2003 model, off ebay. With shipping it was about $225. My particular one was first gen. without wireless headphones, but with modulator works great!
romer,
The stock unit is a combo type, built in dvd player with screen. It will mount on the ceilling and can be adapted to fit ANY make or model car/truck. I posted on this forum before the 12 pin configuration and someone posted the 20 pin this week.
I have complete instructions if you need them somewhere. Basically you have to make a bracket to install the dvd onto the roof and then cut the headliner to allow the wiring. After that its just simple wiring. The factory dvd system has a real good picture quality and holds up to the vibration of road travel very well.
sounds like a good deal, i might have to get me one of those, lately ive done a lot of work on my B2 that has been relatively cheap, time to get into the ole bank acount and get a negative number when i check out my account online
Thanks Guys, I tried 2 universal remotes, 1 RCA brand and 1 Phillips brand, I could not get either one to work. I finally found one at a car radio web site. It looks like it came from the dealer, even has a ford part number. Any way problem is solved thanks to everyone for thier help.

The 20 pin unit works like a champ with the modulator too, I mounted mine in my crew cab by securing the 2 front mounting holes in the unit with machien screws,Loctite and oversize fender washers, on the rear 2 holes I predrilled the roof support rib and used 2 self tapping screws, it looks 100% factory and sounds great, it plays in stereo too!
