You can buy new U-joints at many farm supply stores. They are used on farm machinery. Check your shaft diameter and whether it is a "D" or "double "D" configuration with two flats. Sometimes you can get them online like here and other places: http://www.agri-supply.com/catmain/3500020.htm

4x4subaru, I should have mentioned the dana 44 hp I rebuilt is the open knuckle from a 78 F250.
You trader. Just kidding. Thats what I should had did, but the price was right on the bigball. I rebuilt and replace everything I could for 5 bills. The only problem I have been having is the locker seems to loosen the selector bolts over time. It goes like hell though.
Subaru, I dont know if he has a website, but he will know about applications. Sounds like he's been at it for a long time, since he's semi-retired. Maybe you could keep looking around and find one cheaper, he buys them someplace.
I need the u-joint for my steering shaft or I the whole steeing shaft assy. Anyone know where I can get my grubby hands on one these? All the bone yards around here have 2xs, I have a 4x. Thanks

Spicer part# 5-170x is the U joint 12$, 10-4-611sx are the yokes, 30$ a piece. These prices are from 1994. I'm sure they have risen some since then.
