Bad timing! rear hatch latch
Okay! So the rear hatch on my 00' X has been sticking for a while as I know has been an issue for others out there. The other day after loading my truck up with sheets of 4x8 plywood I closed the barn doors and closed the hatch and upon doing so the mechanism made a funny noise and the handle itself got stuck out a little bit(as if I was just barelly pulling on it). Can you see where I'm going with this??? I tried to open the hatch and it won't budge. I think the cable or what ever connects the handle to the latch has snapped. I now have 10 4x8 sheets of ply that I can't get out of the truck. The dealership is a last resort at this point so if this has happened to any of you and/or you have a suggestion for me I would greatly appriciate it!!!!!!!!

That's bad. I dont think there is a way to pop from the inside unless you can pull off the interior door panel and access the mechanism. You might attempt using the key to lock and then unlock the door and then try the latch. Or press the door closed with some force, possibly the plywood is keeping the door from shutting completely.
BTW, is that a Centurion behind your X? It looks very clean. I have a 2000 Elite-V drive.

I appriciate your suggestions! The wood isn't in the way but maybe I can get the pannel off, we'll see. The boat is actually a Tige' 22i TypeR. Those pics were taken just after getting the snap on cover made. The brand is kind of ambiguous without the decals huh?
