dissappering antifreeze?

I have a 1994 f150 I-6 5spd with about 54,000 mi. Every couple of weeks the antifreeze in the overflow tank is a little low. I check it in the same spot each time when the engine is cold. All of the hoses are new, im pretty sure the radiatior and heater core are original. I cant find any leaks or signs of antifreeze that had leaked on the radiator. The truck runs good and had plenty of power. does anyone have an idea of what might be causing this?
thanks

I have splashing out of the overflow cap (95 F150 - 302) when going over curbs bumps etc - can see it on top of overflow tank. Other possibilities are water pump shaft seal - check weep hole behind water pump pulley, and heater core - could be seeping into floor under carpet/mat or out bottom of a/c evaporator drain to ground. Another possibility is radiator tanks - may only leak overnight during cold nights and be fine during day and when running. Good luck.

Is there any brown sludge in the pvc valve/hose, the oil filler cap or valve cover? If you had a slow leak from the coolant into the block, a brown sludge would show up in these places. Maybe run a can of 'Bar's leak' into the coolant. ...Terry

STAY AWAY FROM ANY STOP LEAK ADDITIVE. These will cause plugging of the radiator core.

I had the same problem on my 302, and it turned out to be a freeze plug in the back side of the head. I would check that as well as the other suggestions. Also check to make sure that your overflow container doesnt have a small pen hole of some kind as I have seen those slowly leak. It shouldnt be anything major, and good luck

this is gonna sound stupid, but i checked the antifreeze in the light today and it was low again. turns out it was just a loose hose leaking , i tightened it.

Thumbs up

Doesn't sound stupid. All repairs and problems should be so easy. Just good you got it fixed.

new hoses

A few weeks after I've installed new hoses on any vehicle, I go back and give the clamps an extra turn of the screw. Seems like it takes awhile for the new ones to "squish" down and then they never leak.

Lightbulb

You can take a little Permatex #2 non hardening and coat the inside of the hose before you install also. Doesn't make it any harder to remove if necessary that I have found.

I just fixed the same problem on an older truck. I replace all hoses and belts and put in new antifreeze. It started leaking from just about every hose connection there was. After I fixed the first 2 leaks I just went around and tightened everything up. Its why you'll usually hear our acvice to check the easiest things first. A lot of times it turns out to be something silly like this.
