I could see the northern lights, Aurora Borealis, tonight, 11-7-04, in West-Cenral Ohio. Great show of white, light green, red and orange. Just wondered if anyone else saw them and from what part of the country or world.
yeah they were fricking aweomse! they are out there tonight! but it's pretty cloudy here ( central Wisconsin) so we cant see them! but they are out there according to my astronomy teacher
i saw them on the way to work this morning. (4:30 am, central ohio) thought it was just the lights from marion, north of where i live, but after about 10 miles i realized there was something else happining as the nearest town north at that point was 30 miles away. it was really cool, heard it was even better at 11:00 or so the night before.
You all just reminded me of yet another of the things I take for granted. We see northern lights here seems like every night but it's likely only 1 in 4. We always forget how neat they are 'till someone's visiting and are awestruck by the shows. Even our license plates read "Land of living skies".
Thanks for all those shots... my wife can't see well in the dark, so she was unable to see the little bit that was visable here, those look like the time I was coming back from Wisconsin and saw the most awesome display that I had ever seen. Must have really been intense to get to you like that. That time I refer to the waves seemed to make it to Beresford, SD. Made the news even.
