no fairly cheap to do. mine cost $150 bucks for both manifolds. Peanuts compared to what new manifoldS cost for my boat. This was also 5 years ago this was done and i had a reputible machine shop do this too. Price could be +/- $50.
I was joking with my last post. If you're friends with the guy that does your work (anything, really) then you'll get less. If not...full price hurts.
Let the place doing the install look at them...they've seen it all probably, they can tell you if it needs shaved or not. Once its on and sealed...it doesn't matter. Let them take a look at it...we can't see it so we're kinda shooting blanks.
Welp went to the machinest which happened to be my neighbour and he said that since it's only steel they are going to flatten anyways with the head. And the only way that they'd warp is if you didn't keep the bolts tight. I thought bad news cause if there is constant temperature changes..(hot, cold, hot, cold...ect.) that would certainly warp them more, but he didn't plane them. I just have to keep the bolts tight. He said I'd be fine. So I'm going with my victor rines gaskets and some RTV copper sealant and hopes this works good. I will definetly be posting about the results next week. Thanks everyone for your help and keep posting to this thread to help other people in their quest.
I don't need to do the entire exhaust cause its been done already. True duals from the y-pipe and my headers (hopefully) bolt up to the y-pipe! Yeah! It's gonna be so deadly....and if I get those purple hornies.... oh man...
Well I've been halted! The headers can't go on yet. My mechanic needs some time to get some of the cars out of the yard, before he can work on mine. How long do you guys think it will take? What performance gain am I looking at? Is it going to be louder? Cause that's what I want!
