Door Chime Disconnect?

Door Chime Disconnect?
Anyone know where the door chime/key in ignition/lights on chime is located. I always leave my key in ignition, and need to disconnect this thing before it drives me crazy. Was easy to do on my 97 ford, but cannot find it on 05' 6.0 c/c dually.

There was a post on this in the 7.3L forum not to long ago, to put it short, remove the covers around the steering column, turn the key on, push a stainless ball in pull the key tumbler out, disconnect the black w/pink stripe wire from the tumbler, tape it as to not make contact, put all back together, it will still chime with the lights and a long tone when first turned on, but will not consistantly chime when the door is open.

Probably not the best way of doing it but I just take my pocket knife and trip the latch on the door and the buzzer will go off along with the dome light because the door ajar mechanism is in the latch. Just have to remember to unlatch it by pulling the door handle outside or the inside one before you close the door again. This is alot easier than tearing your collum apart. Just my $.02 worth.

this is driving me crazy too..how did you do it on your 97? i have a 2002 f-150 ... I HATE these safety devices....I also have a sealt belt shoulder harness that strangles me, so i use a clothespin on the shoulder belt...And for this I PAY $22,000!! anyways GREAT FORUM!!
