Door Dome Light Switch
I have a 2000 F250 SD CC 7.3l Diesel for which I purchased an aftermarket rear view mirror kit that has a compass, temperature and two map lights. Have it all up and working except the map lights. They need to hook into the switch/wire that turns the dome light on when the door is opened. l'm used to GM with their door jamb switches, but find no such switch on a Ford. This is my first Ford Truck and I love it. Just trying to get it like I want it. May add the daytime running kit next.

Remove the door latch. For additional information, refer to Front Door Latch, or Rear Door Latch-Upper, SuperCab, or Rear Door Latch-Lower, SuperCab, or Rear Door Latch-Crew Cab, Excursion, or to Liftgate Latch.

Remove the door ajar switch.
1 Lift up on the locking tab.
2 Rotate and remove the door ajar switch.
