My truck will not stay in my driveway. Is anyone using a lever lock sys., if so to the front or rear brakes? This parking brake is terrible. Ford should have to recall all of them. Any other ideas would be great.
You can use a line lock on your brake lines to set your brakes on the front, rear, or both. A line lock is simply a valve that stops the flow of brake fluid so that the calipers will not relieve the pressure from the discs once the bake pedal is not depressed. I don't know if it would cause any long term damage though. Might check with a local race shop. Racers use them for burnouts and at the starting line to prevent "creep" when powering up.

You have rear discs right? Have you checked the hardware inside the rotors for corrosion, checked the cables to make sure they are not binding? You'd be surprised what a little bit of lube to the levers will do, assuming the brake cables aren't corroded to the point of siezing. The reason I am mentioning this is my trucks parking brake works great, it will hold the truck and the trailer on a hill if I need to. I always put it in low range and in gear if I have to park the trailer on a hill, but the brake WILL hold the rig if it has to.
Yeh checked it all. They hold better in reverse than forward. A friend had a new in 01 PSD, started it one cold morning, went back to get his coffee, when he couldn't hear it running he thought someone stole it. When he went outside to check all he could see were the headlights shining up thru the trees. Six thousand to repair it. Ford said there was nothing wrong with it, they said his driveway was too steep. I don't want to take that chance.
