Ford 250

I'm planning on purchasing a Ford F-250 later on to use in my landscaping business..

I would like to get the DIESEL PSD 250 if it comes available, I'm not really a ford fan but I heard lotsa good things about it...

I currently have a dodge dakota and I would like to purchase a 250.. FORD.. Diesel..

I was wondering, my only concern with diesel on a f250 is; how is the gas on the diesel?

Welcome!

Well the gas ISN'T on the diesel actually. When they make the stuff the diesel usually is first and the rest is made into gas.

LOL ...

I meant, how is the mileage on it??

I have a Dodge Dakota right now, v6 and I use it for landscaping.. boy, I spent about $60-70 a week!

I was wondering how much diesel 250 is better, I'll be getting the v8 diesel so I can haul stuff away.. ie) dirt, stones, gravel, lawn mowers, etc...

You know, landscaping stuff

Seems to be luck of the draw with 6.0 mileage. What's your Dakota get for mileage?

I spend about 60 bucks in gas every three days, so quit you bishin' Plus, you are in Canada right? That's like 12 dollars US

I have a 2003 F250 7.3. With no load around town I can get about 16 MPG. Loaded with about a 5,000LBS trailer I get 13-14 depending on how I drive. Towing that same trailer on the HWY I can go about 450-500 miles.

Ahhh.. okay, I dont get something/understand something here..

When you guys say 15-16MPG in the city and then 20-25MPG in the highway, what does this mean?

You get 15miles per gallon...

1 gallon = 3.74L...

So for 15 miles, you use up 1 gallon of gas?

Your also getting 10 times more truck than a dakota.
Simply put, the dakota is a toy compared to a SuperDuty Diesel.
